Newborn Portraits Lansing MII am so lucky to have such a fun job!!!  I was fortunate to take some newborn portraits for Taelah yesterday!!!  Taelah is 3 weeks old and just a doll!!!  Newborn photography is one of my favorite things to do at my studio!  I love their tiny feet and little hands!  I love their beautiful bright eyes and sleepy face too!  Newborn photography is a great way to always remember how tiny and precious your child is!  Taelah did great at her first photo shoot!  She was awake for the pictures with her parents which showed off her beautiful blue eyes…then she fell fast asleep for the creative newborn portraits!  I love how tiny she curled up when doing the pictures of just Taelah.

Taelah’s parents were excited to do newborn portraits of her.  This is their first child and they couldn’t be prouder parents!!!  Taelah is so loved already and is lucky to have them!!!  I had some great hats to use in her photos and Taelah’s parents Rachelle and Greg brought some hats with them too.  They also brought a special afghan with them to personalize the portraits!  With newborn photography it’s great to personalize the photos with stuffed animals or special blankets!  I have tons of different backdrops that will go with anything a client brings into the studio!

Children portraits lansing miLast week I had Eric and Lynn come into the studio with their six month daughter Viktorija for some children portraits and family portraits!!!  What a beautiful family!!!  Viktorija is very lucky to have such wonderful parents who love her deeply!!!  It was great to see Viktorija’s sweet smile!  Viktorija wore a beautiful spring dress with pink flowers!  She looked angelic and was a perfect model!!!

Six months is a great time to get children portraits and family portraits taken!  At six months old children are smiling all the time and that always shows their personalities!  Children grow so fast it’s a good idea to get some professional children portraits taken to remember this special time!  It’s amazing how fast they grow over the first year!  At Yankee Photography I offer a kids club to capture all the special moments with children portraits at each milestone.

Family Portraits Children Photography Okemos MI PhotographerYesterday I had so much fun photographing an outdoor family portrait session in a park located in Okemos MI for Monica, Jeremy, Emilio and Amare!!!   They are the best family ever!!! I loved the kids energy and playfulness!!!  Both Emilio and Amare had a great time smiling for the camera!!   Amare had some really creative poses and Emilio was a cool cat in his batman t-shirt!!!  Their enthusiasm was contagious and so much fun to photograph!

Monica and Jeremy feel that family portraits and children photography is so important and wanted to capture their family in a unique setting!  The Okemos MI park was a great place to show the kids true personalities and have fun during the outdoor family portrait session!!!

I have known the whole Fountain family for many years now!  They are a wonderful family and have the best children!!!   I took the fountain’s family portraits in the field right behind my studio which is located in East Lansing MI near Lansing MI.  The field was the perfect setting for their portraits!  The fountains brought their yellow lab along and he was the perfect subject!

Family portraits are a great idea to do in the spring and summer season!!!  Right now is the perfect time to have family portraits taken!  Your children will grow so quickly it’s important to capture these special moments with great family photography!

The spring and summer are a great time for family portraits!  Family pictures are a great way to preserve the precious moments with your children!!!  Life is so busy but you can capture today with a family portrait!  I love capturing family portraits for all of my wonderful clients!!!  I love working with children to capture their true personality!!  A family portrait doesn’t have to be formal…I am a lifestyle photographer great at capturing the right natural moment.

There are some great parks and gardens in the East Lansing MI and Okemos MI area close to my studio that I like to use for family portraits.  For Amy and Mike and their children’s family pictures below we went to the MSU gardens in East Lansing MI.  The MSU gardens is a beautiful location for natural lifestyle portraits.  The MSU gardens are very close to my studio and provide so many wonderful spots for family portraits.

Bellow are some of my favorite pictures from Amy, Mike, Sawyer and Maci!!!  I love the interactions of Sawyer and Maci!!!  Sawyer is such a great big brother helping his sister look at the flowers and walk in the gardens!!!  Sawyer and Maci did a great job during their family portrait session at the MSU gardens!!!

I am blessed to have the best clients!!!!  It’s wonderful how people come to me as strangers but through the process of creating memories we become good friends!!! The Stevens is a perfect example of this.  I have known the Stevens for the past 6 years!  I have been lucky to photograph both of their children Anderson and Beckett during the important milestones in their first year.  I have also done several family pictures for them over the past 6 years!  To see the family grow and create timeless pieces of art that will be handed down generation to generation is such an honor!  I love my job and love working with people like the Stevens.

Emily and Chad are such wonderful people!!!  They have the most adorable sweet little boys Anderson and Becket!!  I love doing children portraits and family portraits for them.  Last year I redid my studio and immediately wanted the Stevens to come in to test the new backdrops out!  Pictures…especially family pictures are very important to the Stevens and knew they would want to help me out!  During the session the studio was filled with laughter from the two kids!  They had a great time helping me out and also a perfect chance to update their family portrait!

I am really lucky to meet so many wonderful families with my job!!!  Each family is special and deserves a unique family portrait!!  Family pictures are important to do once a year.  It’s fun to look back on the different years and see how much the family has grown!!!  The Stevens have really grown in the past 6 years!!!  I remember when each of their boys came to get their first portrait taken at 3 months old and now they are school age!  I feel very lucky to help preserve the memories for the Stevens.

Outdoor Family PortraitsThe Broderick family has been coming to me for the past 6 years.  Both of their kids did the Kids Club with my studio and now they come each year for family portraits.  This year we went to Francis Park in Lansing for some outdoor family portraits.  It was a beautiful evening for outdoor family portraits and the garden was picturesque!!!  Francis Park has so much to offer for outdoor family portraits!  They have a wonderful Terrace, beautiful wooded paths, flowering plants, manicured shrubs and mature trees that cover the grounds.  The Broderick’s did a great job with their clothes for the outdoor family portraits!  It is a good idea to wear similar colors but still look individual.  Their coordinating blue hues complimented the natural colors that surrounded them.Outdoor Family Portraits

It has been so great seeing the family growing up over the past 6 years!  The Broderick’s kids have grown up so fast it is so important to capture these special days with outdoor family portraits.  During the session we take different combinations of the family members.  We started off by taking a family portrait of all 4 of them.  Then we split into different groups.  It’s always important to show the relationships in portraits.

The bonds between a mother and daughter and a father and son are amazing!  I love the smiles on all of their faces and the love in their eyes.  What a precious moment in time from a usually hectic day!  It’s important to take time for your loved ones and I was so happy to capture their special bond.

The Broderick’s are really a special family!  I am so happy they come back each year for outdoor family portraits!   I love this picture with the green hedges in the background and yellow flowers.

I had to capture the Broderick’s two children together for sure.  They were in such a great mood and had so much fun posing for the camera.  They followed all my instructions and were naturals at the same time.Outdoor Family Portraits

I love these two pictures!  The innocence of a child is showcased in her eyes.  Her sweet smile is genuine and the blue dress is a great compliment for the gardens.
