Nicole and Jim came to me in 2010 as expecting parents that were very excited!!!  It has since been about a year and a half and 6 portrait sessions later I have a whole collection of Maillee’s children portraits!

I knew Nicole from my childhood and was so happy she wanted to come to Yankee Photography!!!  It was great seeing her full of joy and with a loving husband!  Jim was her soul mate and they were about to have the biggest present of their life, a baby girl or baby boy!!!  Maternity portraits is a great way to celebrate the coming of a new child.  Nicole looked radiant!!!  I could see the anticipation in her eyes!!!

Soon after the appointment Nicole gave birth to a beautiful baby girl!  They named her Mailee and she was perfect!  Nicole and Jim brought Mailee into the studio at 1 week old for some newborn portraits.  Newborn pictures are my favorite!!!  I love their teeny tiny feet and how they fit into their parents arms!  Mailee was great at her first photo shoot sleeping through most of it!  Nicole and Jim brought a small stuffed animal to show true size of Mailee.

Three short months later Mailee came back to the studio for her 3 month children portrait session.  It was amazing to see how much she had grown in such a small amount of time!  At 3 months she was able to sit with help and smiled at the camera.  Her soft light red hair was growing in and she did an awesome job for her second photo shoot!!!

The next big milestone to capture is 6 months.  By 6 month portrait session she was more mobile.  Nicole Mailee and I had a fun time at this session.  Mailee had several outfits and we used tons of backdrops for a fashion show look.  Mailee’s smile made my job so easy!  She was a real star!!!

At 9 Months Mailee was able to stand holding onto an object.  She liked to stand on her toes.  She was also sitting up by herself and of course she had the best smile!!!  She was dressed in a spring dress that popped off the white backdrop.  9 months doesn’t last long so it was good that Nicole came to Yankee Photography to capture this special moment!!!

Before I knew it it was time for her one year portraits!  I couldn’t believe how fast the time went by!!!  It seemed like yesterday I was doing Nicole and Jim’s maternity portraits and now their daughter was already one.  An adorable one year old for sure!!!  She was running all over the studio.  She was laughing at her mom as she made funny faces behind the camera.  And Nicole brought the tiny bear from when she was a newborn to have her hold for size comparison.  It was a great idea to tie in.  The little bear sure looked bigger when she was just a week old!

It was a fun year full of lots of pictures!!!  It was great to see Mailee change and grow so much over the whole year.  It is important to have your child photographed at each milestone…maternity, newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and one year old.  Your child will change the most in the first year of life it is crucial to capture all the precious smiles!  Mailee grew up so fast but I’m glad we have these pictures to show her someday!

Nicole and Jim are very blessed!!!  Nicole just called me and told me she was expecting again!!!  Mailee will have either a baby brother or baby sister really soon.  Nicole looks forward to having her next child photographed at each mileston.  In the meantime check out Nicole’s second maternity photo shoot here on my BLOG!!!!!
