Emily came to Yankee Photography because she wanted fun senior portraits and I believe she came to the right place! I love summers because that means it’s senior season! Emily is from Charlotte, Mi but decided to drive to East Lansing because her sister came to me a few years before and she had a great experience! I am so happy she chose Yankee Photography for her fun senior portraits!
Seniors are at an amazing time in their life! They are about to be at the top of their high school and most are excited for the future options at college. To celebrate this amazing time in their life most seniors want fun senior portraits! Emily wanted a fall setting for her fun senior portraits which is a great time in the year to do senior portraits. Emily did two different sessions, one for indoors and yearbook photo in the middle of the summer and then an outdoor session in the fall with wonderful colors on all the trees. We had to do the indoor and yearbook pictures in the summer because of the strict deadline for yearbook photos.
Emily loved my new backgrounds that I had bought for the senior season! I buy new backgrounds every year so that the seniors have a unique background for their pictures. Emily loved the black and white damask pattern. It complimented her grey sweater and jeans. She really looks amazing and it was a great start to her fun senior portraits.
Emily has been a soccer player for as long as she can remember. I love when seniors bring their own props for photos because it adds a more personal touch to them. Emily is so talented I’m glad she was able to show her personality in her fun senior portraits.
Emily wanted a full range of looks for her fun senior portraits. Blue was one of Emily’s favorite colors and I love how the classic color sets off the amazing dress.
Emily also wore the black and white dress outside but this time with a sweater. The black dress was a great compliment to the yellow leaves on the trees. We picked the best day for outdoor photos. It was warm weather and overcast which helps for the shadows in the portraits.
As we were walking around on the MSU Campus we found a picturesque location in the woods. MSU Campus is right next to my East Lansing studio and allows for a variety of locations for outdoor photos.
Emily has a great style sense. I loved her Detroit Red Wings sweatshirt. Emily’s bright eyes with the hood over her made for an easy going pose. Emily said she was having a great time in front of the camera and thought I was capturing the fun senior portraits that she was after.
With Emily’s last outfit change we found a great wooden fence. I blurred the background so Emily would pop in the portrait. It was a fun senior portrait session and I am so happy Emily chose me to do her senior portraits.

Beautiful work! That dress is stunning on her!! I love the coloring and lighting you got on campus!
